The BIOTOP-LOS complex system is designed to treat surface runoff and meltwater from petroleum products and suspended solids. The sorbent used in the system enables additional removal of contaminants such as iron, nickel, copper, zinc, and chromium, which infiltrate via old sewer pits with VOC-infiltrating water. Additionally, in conjunction with a multi-stage filtration and adsorption system, the complex system allows for the reduction of parameters such as BOD and COD. The treated effluent can be discharged into sewers or reservoirs and disinfected if necessary. The choice of an appropriate treatment system configuration depends on the source of the wastewater and the discharge location.
